Bio

Edwin Diaz, known as Ed The Engineer, is a talented Dominican sound engineer and music producer. He was born and raised in the Dominican Republic but emigrated with his family at a young age, settling in the DMV area (D.C., Maryland, and Virginia). Diaz always maintained a strong connection to his roots, especially with his grandmother and the rest of his family in the Dominican Republic. From an early age, Edwin showed a great interest in music and the entertainment industry. He accompanied his uncle, who was a musician, to music events, festivals, and radio and television programs. These experiences ignited his passion for music and inspired him to pursue a career in the world of sound. During his teenage years, Edwin formed a musical group called LGF (La Gran Familia), composed of close cousins and friends whom he considers as brothers. Under the artistic name K.O. the Monsta, the group began gaining local recognition and performing on various stages. In search of a formal education in sound engineering, Edwin moved to the city of Orlando in 2008. There, he enrolled in the prestigious Full Sail University and dedicated himself to honing his technical skills and musical knowledge. During his studies, he interned at various recording studios, gaining practical experience in the field. The turning point in Edwin Diaz's career came when he obtained an internship opportunity at Plush Studios, a renowned recording studio. Demonstrating his talent and dedication, Edwin was hired as part of the Plush Studios team. Over the years, he has risen through the ranks and currently holds the position of Head Engineer, responsible for the main recordings. During this remarkable journey, Edwin had the invaluable chance to meet Mr. EarCandy, a certified engineer with multiple awards and nominations, who became an instrumental mentor in shaping Edwin's path at Plush Studios and beyond. With Mr. EarCandy's guidance and expertise, Edwin Diaz has further honed his skills and deepened his understanding of the recording industry. His collaborations with notable artists in the music industry, including Wisin y Yandel, Justin Bieber, Myke Towers, Dani Leigh, Giovanni Hidalgo, Maldy, Derrick Milano, Maluma, Ozuna, YK Osiris, Mrs. Lauryn Hill, Almighty, Kevin Cossom, Jory, and Tiago PZK, among others, have been nothing short of exceptional. These collaborations have amassed over 3.7 billion streams, a testament to Edwin's exceptional engineering prowess and artistic collaboration. Edwin's dedication and hard work have been recognized through his impressive collection of 34 platinum records certified by the RIAA. As he continues to push the boundaries of sonic excellence and innovation, Edwin Diaz remains deeply grateful for the mentorship and support provided by Mr. EarCandy, a mentor whose influence continues to resonate in every note and recording he engineers. In addition to his work in the music industry, Edwin is the CEO of Top Notch Bangers, a company he envisioned at a young age.
