Bio

Hi! I'm Flevans - a musician and producer who has worked with some of the biggest indie labels in the uk (Tru Thoughts, Jalapeno Records, Boogie Angst) as well as having music featured on labels including Ninja Tune and Ministry of Sound. Over the course of my 2 decade career in music, I have released 10 albums, amassed millions of streams, played live sessions for BBC radio 1 and 6 music, and had my music supported by major radio stations across the globe. I have also had notable success in the sync world with my music being used by Nokia and ESPN among others. I have recently set up my own record label, Nearby Bear Recordings, initially as a platform for releasing my own music but with a view to expanding this over the coming months and years. I am interested in soul, house, disco, lo-fi, downtempo, beats and breaks. I am a music and tech geek, with a deep understanding of production techniques and performance skills. I am regularly sent music for appraisal (I also had a radio show on Brighton station 1BTN) and pride myself on taking proper time to evaluate and ensuring I give honest, constructive feedback and support. First and foremost by taking proper time to listen to their music and offering constructive and productive feedback around production, song structure and development and how well they sit within their niche. I can offer advice on sound design and how to mould and shape their sound and make their productions pop. As someone who understands the industry I can also help look at label / sync / distribution requests, reviewing their PR and artwork. I am actively working towards developing my playlist and creating regular content to support the new releases on my own label.
